Ionel Perlea International Conducting Competition 2026

Applications are now open for the 10th Ionel Perlea International Conducting Competition, which will take place from 29–31 July 2026 at the Ionel Perlea Cultural Center in Slobozia, Romania.

The competition is open to conductors of all nationalities, with no age limit.

Admission to the competition is based on a 10–15 minute video recording showing the applicant conducting during a rehearsal or concert. Piano rehearsal recordings are also accepted.

Application deadline: 15 July 2026

The registration fee is €100. Candidates admitted after the video preselection will be required to pay a €300 participation fee, which includes accommodation and two meals per day during the competition.
