Applications are now open for the Bayerische Staatsoper Opera Studio – 2027/28 Season!

The Bayerische Staatsoper Opera Studio offers outstanding young singers the opportunity to develop their artistic careers through a practice-oriented training programme designed to prepare participants for the international opera profession.

Eligibility requirements

  • Applicants must be no older than 28 years of age on the application deadline.
  • Applications from candidates above the age limit will not be considered.

Applicants are required to submit:

  • completed application form (available on the official website);
  • curriculum vitae;
  • recent photograph;
  • audio recording featuring 3 arias or songs, including:
    • one aria by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart;
    • if possible, one aria in German.

Application deadline: 18 September 2026

Selected candidates will be invited to audition in November 2026. Further details regarding the audition process will be announced by the company at a later date.
