Young Artist Programme 2027/28 – Singers

National Opera Studio invites applications from emerging opera singers for its Young Artist Programme 2027/28, a nine-month professional training programme delivered in collaboration with the UK’s six national opera companies.

Each year, 12 singers are selected for intensive coaching, masterclasses, residencies, performance opportunities and industry auditions.

The programme is fully funded, and selected artists receive:

• a £1,400 monthly performance stipend;
• additional support of up to £250 per month towards living and study costs;
• £600 for private lessons and auditions;
• up to £260 towards audition travel.

There is no upper age limit, but applicants should be at the beginning of their professional operatic careers.

Application deadline: 15 October 2026, 11:59 pm

Applications require two video recordings of opera arias, two professional references and a recent photograph.
Recordings must have been made in 2026, in a single take and without audio editing.
References may not be provided by current or former teachers.
