Verum Solitus – International Vocal Competition

Applications are now open for the Verum Solitus – International Vocal Competition, organized by Opera Națională Română Cluj-Napoca.

The competition is open to young opera singers from Romania and abroad, up to the age of 35, and will take place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, between 7–11 September 2026.

The competition aims to discover and support emerging operatic talents, offering participants the opportunity to perform before an international jury and appear on the stage of the Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca. Prize winners will perform in the Laureates’ Gala and may receive opportunities to collaborate with opera institutions in Romania.

Application deadline: 15 July 2026

Repertoire requirements: five arias of different styles from the standard operatic repertoire, including one aria by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
