Description

Aimed at all young top-level instrumentalists completing their final studies and looking to acquire an in-depth orchestral experience that offers the opportunity of perfecting orchestral technique via a side-by-side Academy.
Situated at the Philharmonie de Paris under the musical direction of Klaus Mäkelä.

Dates: 1–6 September 2026 (arrival on 31 August)
Participants are provided with accommodation and meals, with the possibility to apply for travel support.

Applications are submitted online and must include video materials.
Application deadline: 9 January 2026

Repertoire:

  • Saint-Saëns – Symphony No. 3
  • Honegger – Symphony No. 3

The programme brings together 45 young instrumentalists and will conclude with a concert at the Philharmonie de Paris on 6 September 2026.

For a limited number of Summer Academy participants, there is the possibility of being invited to the Studio Academy 2027, an advanced programme taking place between January and June 2027.
Number of participants: 5 musicians (2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello, 1 double bass).
During these six months, the selected musicians become active members of the orchestra.
Participation in the Summer Academy is required in order to be eligible for the Studio Academy.
