Opera Studio Nürnberg – Call for Bass and Baritone (2027/2028 Season)

Staatstheater Nürnberg, in partnership with the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg, announces a new selection round for the International Opera Studio – a programme designed for early-career singers, combining academic training with stage experience in a professional opera house.

For the 2027/2028 season, two positions are available for bass and baritone voices.

The programme includes participation in the theatre’s productions (small and medium-sized roles), involvement in opera studio projects, specialised courses and masterclasses, as well as audition training. Participants are also enrolled in a dedicated Master’s programme at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg.

Members of the programme receive a monthly scholarship, as well as additional fees for performances.

Requirements: completed higher education (minimum Bachelor’s degree) in vocal studies; German language proficiency at least B1 level.
Application materials: CV, motivation letter, application form, and 2–3 arias (including one Mozart aria and one aria in German).
