Open Call – Singers Program 2027

Ravinia Festival’s Steans Institute has opened applications for its 2027 Singers Program.
The program is dedicated to classical vocalists and focuses on the study and performance of art song repertoire.

Led by Artistic Director Kevin Murphy, fellows work closely with acclaimed musicians and educators, exploring style, technique, language, and performance. The program includes eight public recitals and master classes during the Ravinia Festival season.

The program will take place from July 28 to August 21, 2027, in Highland Park, Illinois, USA.
Musicians of any nationality may apply.

Round 1 – Online Application

Applicants must submit four recordings (video preferred):

• one art song in English;
• two additional art songs of contrasting style and language;
• one aria.

Additional application materials include a performance résumé, high-resolution headshot, 150-word bio, three references, and a sample recital program.

Round 2 – Live Auditions

Selected applicants will be invited to live auditions:

• New York City: November 16–17, 2026;
• Highland Park, Illinois: November 23, 2026.

Applicants unable to attend the live auditions will be considered based on their submitted recordings.

All accepted artists receive a full tuition-free fellowship, including accommodations and meals.

There is no application fee.
