Founded in 1997, the Nancy B. Negley Artist Residency is located in Dora Maar’s former home in the Provençal village of Ménerbes. The restored 18th-century stone residence now welcomes outstanding mid-career professionals, offering them the space and time to focus entirely on their practice.

What the fellowship provides:

  • Private accommodation (bedroom & bathroom) in a shared historic house with gardens, a library, and communal areas
  • Dedicated workspace (studio, office, or practice room with piano for musicians)
  • Weekly housekeeping and laundry facilities
  • A travel grant to cover average transportation costs to Paris or Marseille
  • Chances to share work with the local community through talks, salons, or workshops

Applicants may come from a broad spectrum of disciplines such as visual arts, literature, performance, music, film, digital media, architecture, art history, philosophy, and other related fields.

Residency period: March 1 – November 30, 2026
