Kapellmeister / Conductor – Vienna

Vienna Residence Orchestra / Vienna Hofburg Orchestra are inviting applications for a Conductor / Kapellmeister (m/f/d) position, starting in May 2026, in view of the upcoming expansion of their concert activities at Kursalon Vienna.

Key responsibilities:

• conducting concerts and rehearsals of the symphonic orchestra;
• providing artistic leadership for the chamber orchestra;
• participating in auditions and in the development of new concert programmes.

Requirements:

• A degree in orchestral conducting;
• Conducting experience in concert, opera, and operetta, with a focus on the performance traditions of Viennese Classicism and the works of the Strauss dynasty;
• Strong motivational skills and high social competence.
