Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester – Bucharest Audition 2025

The renowned Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, founded in 1986/87 on the initiative of Claudio Abbado, is today regarded as one of the most important youth orchestras in the world and operates under the patronage of the Council of Europe.

Auditions take place each year in more than 25 European cities.

To be eligible for the 2025 auditions, applicants must meet the following conditions:

• European citizenship
• Advanced level of education
• Born between 1.1.1999 and 1.1.2010

As part of the long-standing collaboration with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the preselection in Bucharest will take place on 21 November 2025 at the National University of Music Bucharest.

The application deadline for the Bucharest auditions is 11 November 2025.
