Accademia Donizettiana with Michael Spyres

As part of the Musica Ricercata Op. 9 Festival, acclaimed baritenor Michael Spyres returns to Timișoara to launch the Accademia Donizettiana, an international training programme dedicated to the study and performance of the bel canto repertoire, with a special focus on the operatic works of Gaetano Donizetti.

The programme is open to voice students, young opera singers at the beginning of their careers, and collaborative pianists up to the age of 35.

The Academy will select 6 active singers and 1 collaborative pianist.

Taking place in Timișoara, Romania, from 5–12 December 2026, the programme includes masterclasses, individual coaching sessions, artistic mentoring, ensemble and orchestral rehearsals, as well as participation in two regional recitals and the closing concert of the Musica Ricercata Op. 9 Festival, alongside Michael Spyres and the Banatul Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.

Accommodation will be provided by the organisers.
